    Safety Questions

In these questions "the display", or "on display", or "at the display" refers to the entire project area. That includes the area on the table, under the table, the backboard itself, behind the backboard, etc.

IMPORTANT: YOUR PROJECT COULD BE DISQUALIFIED if you bring prohibited or unsafe items to the exhibit hall. This page is meant to help you determine what the potential safety issues for your project may be, so you can safely display your project in a public space with potentially hundreds of people around the exhibit hall. Your project must pass a safety inspection at the fair before it is allowed to be judged. The questions on this page are the same requirements that the safety-checkers will use for the safety inspection. If you check all the boxes on this page (thus agreeing that your project meets the safety requirements), then show up at the fair with an item that is not permitted (e.g., plants, food items for your display, or liquids other than water) your project could be disqualified.
